Monday Memories - A Little Different, Tuning an M5 Horn
Author: FiveChime

Each year, many years ago, a bunch of folks who appreciated locomotive horns would gather at the Southern Application Railroad Museum
in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, for a locomotive horn gathering. This little segment shows great horn master, the late Ken Lanovich tuning an old
Nathan M5 horn. Also pictured briefly there is Dean Ellisworth, person responsible for the K5LA horns we hear today on Amtrak locomotives.

Very nice and interesting video, very pleasing to my ears. My favorite horn was the H5. On the Seaboard at Hamlet NC, the rare H5 was called a "Wampus Cat".

 Thanks for posting.
I rode down there with Ken one year.
I think I caught a glimpse of Ray Weart, Bill Williamson and Ed Long in the video.
Back in the 80's and 90's you never knew what Ken was going to pull out of his trunk.
Gone 12 years now. He was GTW1516 on TO

EDIT
After a few minutes I remembered Bill Williamson's first name and
also Ken's TO handle and have corrected them.
