Rock Island-HB&T units at Houston
Author: gcm

April 1977
Activity at the HB&T Milby St shops in Houston.
Three Houston Belt & Terminal switchers in different paint on the left (including their bicentennial unit).
The middle one was the oldest paint job.
On the right a few engines were leaving the yard to head down to New South Yard.
Rock Island U30C 4597 leads with Cotton Belt SD45T-2 9375 behind.

That's a lot more variety than you see in today's railroad scene!

Interesting scene, gloomy-looking day but lots of nice color there...

7 units visible, 7 different paint schemes, all in a pile of mud, a very 1970s kind of day.

Super shot. It is too bad no RI U30Cs survived.
