The MN&S caught my attention after seeing an article in probably a "Trains"magazine. But it could have been any railroading mag of the day. When I was a kid the local farmers market had a guy that sold second hand magazines for 10 or 25 cents, don't remember, but cheap enough Dad would humor me and buy one. I recall they always had the corner with the subscribers name and address cutoff.
I've always been fascinated by bridges and MN&S had a wooden deck swing bridge shared with a road, pretty neat stuff. That and the fact they had one of the earliest gas/diesel-electric locos was interesting. Not to mention they were the "Dan Patch Line" named after a race horse! All impresive stuff to an early teen.
All of that lost to time and mergers.

Wow! Three of the rarest MN&S photos I have seen as these are all action instead of roster shots!

Couple of typos in your caption for pic #1.  MNS 23 is a DT66-2000, Baldwin serial 74140, built 1/49.  Source: https://www.thedieselshop.us/BLW_Transfer.HTML
