Nostalgia & History > Some Conrail, Summer, 1997Date: 02/08/26 14:54 Some Conrail, Summer, 1997 Author: Guitartrain 1. The S curve at MP 142 on the Pittsburgh Line has always been a go to spot for photos. Here, Conrail SD80MACs-4113 & 4106 are W/B, leading BAPI-6 (Baltimore, MD to Pittsburgh, PA), on track two, approaching the PA Rt. 333 overpass. 3:15PM on 7-6-97 in Thompsontown Station, PA.
2. A W/B Conrail SD40-2 duo, 6379 & 6398, are most likely returning to Altoona. Earlier in the day, at 11:58AM, I photographed them on the point of E/B PIOI-6X (Pittsburgh, PA to Oak Island, NJ) at the Duncannon signal bridge. Here, they're approaching the PA Rt. 333 overpass on track two of the Pittsburgh Line. 6:42PM on 7-6-97 in Thompsontown Station, PA. 3. FLYIN' HIGH: LMS C40-8W-737 & Conrail SD40-2-6485 are crossing Rockville Bridge, over the Susquehanna River, with E/B coal train UEP-2 destined for PECO Energy in Eddystone, PA. 8:23AM on 8-16-97 in Rockville, PA. Those 80MACs looked good, and later the C40 widenoses became favorites of mine to run.
