Fog is good! Fog is our friend! Especially when we’re equipped with a tripod and blessed with a source of friendly ambient light. Not to mention having an ample stock of Kodachrome… :^)

1. AT&SF 5430 points train 883 K-1, stopped for a crew change at Emporia, KS.

Yessir, you sure do! But it wasn't me. You could find that stair-step LG on a great many loco noses during that time period. But I never found out who was doing it...

Thanks Pedro, for your compliment! To address your comment. I don’t remember it being cold. But Kansas was (still is) famous for having high humidity at times. So foggy nights like this were fairly common…
