Assigned or actually renumbered to CR 1886? Info is that it was scrapped at Pielet Brothers in early 1977. Built for Erie Railroad, EMD # 7466, Feb. 1949 as Erie 709D. Spent most the the time just prior to CR based out of Scranton and operated up to Syracuse among other places. I think by early 1976 EL had it in storage at Scranton shops. CR revived it ,,, I believe. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/02/26 09:44 by train1275. Date: 03/02/26 09:54 Re: Fifty or More Years Ago - EL 7094 Author: ClubCar Another nice photo, thanks, Bob.

My recollection is the Erie Railroad F7 units were in the E-L 7xxx series, while the DL&W F-7 units were in the 6xxx series. Question: By the mid 1970s, were the EL F units mostly east of Marion? I never saw them on the west end but did see the E units in freight service. Victor Baird Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 03/02/26 19:43 by wabash2800. |
