1. MP 2987 and UP S27 at N. Little Rock, AR on February 12, 1989
2987 was built 2/74 and was ex-MP 23
The slug was ex-MP 1418 SW9 and became UPY 921

2. MP 2241 and UP 2123 on February 12, 1989 in N. Little Rock, AR
2241 was a GP38-2, built 8/76 ex CRI&P 4303
2123 was a GP38-2 built 1/75 ex-MP 3123

3. MP GE U23B 4530 in Oklahoma City, OK on July 14, 1989 and was built 1/77 as MP 2281.

I didn't know or had forgotten there was at least the one MP U30C still around that late into the 80's.   When did the last MP U30C operate?   I thought they were sidelined by the UP takeover and off the property soon after but apparently not.

Check https://utahrails.net/up-diesel-roster/up-x-mp-3.html#u30c-mp2965 for when the last MP U30Cs were operated/retired/scrapped.  The 2987 (built 2/72 as MP 982) would have been in storage at the time of Marty's photo, formally retired 6/6/89 and sold for scrap.
