Picasa do-over (vol #40): Sequence at Aikins
Author: santafe199

Two more early attempts at photo-editing with Picasa, which is somewhat primitive compared to Photoshop. During this session some 15 years ago I can remember adding some cyan into the sky, which wasn’t really there. Images 3-5 have much more realistic sky color…

1. & 2. UP 2827 + N&W units 1627, 1796 and 1362 on an eastbound manifest at Aikins, KS on September 1, 1979.

Now edited in Photoshop, with an added image…

3. 4. & 5. Same as above with an added image, edited in Photoshop.

Thanks for looking back (again)!

I love these Lance! Being an avid freight car modeler, I love anything that shows some of the train. After all, if it wasn't for the train, all those locomotives would have nothing to do.

Nice ones, Lance.  On these, I actually do perfer the blue/cyan hue of the originals - but with the sharpness of the do-overs.

But then again, I was a fan of Fuji Provia and Velvia (and even Ektachrome that hadn't yet reddened) towards the end of the slide-shooting portion of my railfanning career.
