Marshalltown Monsoon
Author: MacBeau

Having grown up on the Mojave desert, a rain storm of this magnitude appeared almost Biblical at first. Standing beneath South 3rd Avenue, the goal had been to record the myriad of first generation GP's, but the stunning volume of water quickly became the show. Moving over to the depot after the downpour subsided offered a switch job and a westbound, July 1990.
Be of good cheer,

Very good! Miss that era of railroading, but I was never near Iowa.

Your first scene with the monsoon-like rain truly captures the feel of "drowning" yet being dry.
