Gildersleeve copy slide classics (vol 150): DH-ing at Heman
Author: santafe199

In Gildersleeve set 187, captions #29 & #30 read: “Mighty 2-10-4's on Curtiss Hill at Heman-Belva, Oklahoma, July 16, 1955”. Even with no engine numbers listed this seems to be the most likely caption for this double-heading pair…

1. AT&SF 5015 at Heman, OK on July 16, 1955.
Photo by Clayton Tinkham. Tom Gildersleeve commercial Ektachrome copy slide from set #187.
Scanned from the late James W. Watson collection.

Thanks for looking back!

Wow!  That's quite an image that Mr Tinkham captured all those years ago.  Thanks for the cleanup and post.

This is frame 30 from set 187, with the caption as stated. Neighboring frame 29 shows AT&SF 5023 running solo on a reefer block. Frames 15 and 16 are photos of the Cyrus K. Holliday.

Yeah, thanks. I even had 30 for EXIF reference. I don't know where #15 & #16 came from. Again, that's what I get for working with multiple images at the same time. I've got all details corrected...
