Nostalgia & History > Baldwin BastionDate: 04/08/26 12:28 Baldwin Bastion Author: thebluecomet Pavonia Engine Terminal in Camden, New Jersey by the mid-1970's was the place to find Baldwin diesels in their final days. The Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines had dieselized with them back in the day and the Penn Central kept theirs in the Philadelphia area no doubt knowing the PRSL shop guys could keep them running. I can only assume there was some sort of parts inventory remaining from the old Baldwin plant down in nearby Eddystone, PA. Several cannibalized switchers could usually be found here as well. All images from 1974.

Thanks for the post; it was a very interesting time.
