A RF&P Freight Passing
Author: MartyBernard

Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac GP35 131 leads at Gum Tree, VA on June 1, 1972.  It's a southbound train because the engine number is odd.  Even numbered engines are pointed north.  Thus the purely north/south railroad never had to turn it's locomotives.

Super shots and nice pull up the grade!  Gum Tree looks like a cool spot!

I've read that it was a well-run railroad, with mostly "run through" traffic.  Did it have much on-line traffic??
