Set 222, caption #4: "Train no. 17 at Topeka, Jan. 10, 1954". Looks pretty good to me…

1. UP 931 leading train #17, the “Portland Rose” at Topeka, KS on January 10, 1954.

Nice!  UP 931 is less than a year old here, would later become Amtrak 327.

Wow, 18 years later that engine came out to Hamlet NC, and I had it on the Silver Star. Looks really good in 1954

These classic shots can be shown frequently , they never get old, and as much as we look at the forumn, we still manage to miss stuff too.
