I took these 5 shots on July 15, 1993 from the cab of Amtrak's Crescent, Train 19 from Atlanta to Birmingham, July 15, 1993.  A cab ride is a benefit of being a consultant looking at the route for possible Hi-Speed Rail.

1. In Bremen, GA looking at NS 5207, ex-SOU GP38-2.

2. In Winston, GA a meet with NS 6524, a SD50.

3. A meet in Bynum, AL with NS 6654 a SD60.

4. Looking at NS 6186 in Owens, AL, 1 of 2 in the hole, an ex-NW SD40

5. NS SD60 6605 in Owens, AL, 2 of 2 in the hole for us

With family down that way I'm very familiar with Bremen. Just wish you could still that kind of power still. Nice shots from the cab.

IMO, Atlanta - Birmingham is problematic in many ways for HSR.
