Nostalgia & History > Brand New Warbonnet Wednesday!Date: 05/06/26 05:39 Brand New Warbonnet Wednesday! Author: Chico56 C40-8Ws 800, 802, and 804 lead the S-CHLA as it approaches the Cosnino overpass on old Route 66 east of Flagstaff, AZ. This was the first trip west for the three 800s, my photo taken on April 16, 1992. Happy hump day and thanks for tuning in,

JB Date: 05/06/26 08:41 Re: Brand New Warbonnet Wednesday! Author: santafe199 I wonder why we see brand new power right out of the factory, but it's every other engine number in the sequence. I've noticed this a few times now... :^/
Lance Date: 05/06/26 09:01 Re: Brand New Warbonnet Wednesday! Author: Chico56 In case of the 800s, even numbered units were built and delivered before odd numbered units. For example, 800, 02, and 04 were built in April 1992. 801, 03, and 05 were built in May 1992. There was a logical reason for this but I can't recall what is was.
