July 7, 1976 Leased to power short Conrail still wearing SP&S paint BN 4054 RS-3 sitting in the former NYC-PC North Corning, NY Yard.

Interesting... I didn't know that BN leased any of its ALCO's to other railroads.   Even if it just showed-up on a Conrail run-through, that would have been pretty surprising.

I photographed #4054 leading the Portland - Vancouver Transfer as it departed Hoyt Street Yard in 1976 also.  It was retired in 1979.

On start up day of Conrail, I had the midnight hostling job at the Meadows Motor pit. We had everything come in there, including these.
