In the center of the Norden view there were four tracks: the "westward" main, the track to the turntable, then the siding and the "eastward" main are out in the open for a couple hundred feet. Looks like the San Francisco Zephyr equipped with one of the former SP 3/4 domes. I road westbound in one of those domes the following summer from Osceola Iowa to Sacramento.

The 152-car freight has broken in two; that's the second time I saw a passenger train passing a broke-in-two freight at Yuba Pass.
