My sorority sister Anne Jarvis and I used to ride this from Berkeley to Sacramento in 1954-55 for weekends staying at her parents' house while Carl was still at Davis.

No Carol, she road the SP's Budd car. The WP's Zepherette offered tri-weekly service to Salt Lake City via the Feather River Canyon. It had reclining seats for the fare paying passengers and walk-overs for the pass riders. It left in late afternoon and ran at night through the canyon and crossed the scenic desert by day. Round trip fare was only 110% of coach as I recall.
