Being a heritage member, I can't see the full size picture, but that sure as hell looks like an E-3 in the purple & silver scheme... And if so, is that 501 backing down to The Champion?

Time of day by the shadows about 3 - 5 pm. The ACL Champs ran through Richmond after dark. The ACL units are on one of the tracks used for ready locomotives. The RF&P units are either backing down on a train or pulling away from one they just brought in. The earliest Guide trhat I have is 1954. The Miamian would be coming through Richmond about the time this picture was takes.
