All Dressed Up and Nowhere to Go!
Author: Arkay

This is a scan of a shot that I took back in 1978 or 79. The slide, taken at Los Angeles Union Station was of an Amtrak FP and two cars that were dressed up for a movie or TV show. The F unit only had paint on this side of the locomotive. The two cars don't have Amtrak stripes so maybe they were private cars. Does anyone know what film or TV show this train appeared in?

You know, it reminded me of a dinner train.

The train was used for a TV series that had Vincent Price in it. It may have been called "The Time Train", not sure on the title.

Good ole IMDb:

"If you like this title, we also recommend...
'Mannix'"

A Twilight Zone-ish time travel show...and a private eye crime/action show?

The late, great, ex-CZ dome obs Silver Horizon was one of the 2 passenger cars behind the ex-SP F unit.

LAUPT was looking pretty shoddy back then. Sure looks different today. Although it would be nice to see some F-units again.-BMT
