This depot still exists in its original location. I think that the BNSF maintenance of way department uses it for storage and etc.

I don't quite understand why we don't see more of what the south had to offer railroad wise, particularly from the days of steam and depots. The south had an awful lot of variety in both, and it's all very interesting.

Here is a picture of the Greeley Colorado depot that I took while standing in a dutch door of the SFZ in 1975. Is this depot still with us? Or has it gone on to the happy hunting grounds for old depots?
Con ![]() Date: 03/08/05 09:19 Re: miscellaneous depots Author: xtra1188w This will be the last depot picture for now. I took this shot of the Kent Washington from a domecar that was in the consist of an eastbound Empire Builder in 1975. I assume that this was an NP depot, is this right?
Con ![]() Date: 03/08/05 10:34 Re: miscellaneous depots Author: highgreengraphics The nicely ornate brick Greeley, CO depot is still at its same location, relatively unchanged on the outside and most of the waiting room elements are still intact. It is a bus terminal and Chamber of Commerce. It is not used by UP at all, and no more Amtrak here. A previous plan to make it into a restaurant never materialized. It has gained some improved landscaping. -- JLH

Date: 03/09/05 18:42 Re: miscellaneous depots Author: xtra1188w Nossir, I don't have that one. The only time that I was in these areas was when I was driving a big truck, that is an 18 wheeler. Most of those little towns in Louisiana and Mississippi and etc. take a very dim view of us getting off the "truck route" with rare exception. Most of the time I couldn't get anywhere near where depots were typically located.
