When the SP 8000's were new...
Author: TexBob

The 8000's were enjoyed much by me for their unique look and sound.
From what seems like a million years ago, a few views from when they
were new...

Dolores CA, Sept 13, 1987, having just delivered the AVAXT.

I noticed the 3 chime horn also. I don't think it's a Leslie S3LR.
The bells are too short.

The horn, IIRC, is a Nathan K3.

With that open, diamond-shaped manifold, it's definitely a Leslie or a Prime (Leslie clone). A K3 usually has a plain, straight manifold.

I also recall K5H's on the 8000's. Hmmm...SP's B36-7's came with dual K5's (see thread below) that were soon replaced. Were the K5's simply transplanted to the B39-8's after delivery?

Those B39s had the same type horn UPs 8-40Cs had when they were brand new, loud and all, but they eventually changed them!

SP was sure happy to see some new power with their arrival.
Looks like the 8007 has some interesting weathering patterns after only one trip.
Great shots!
