An SP remote unit at South SF

When big power used to roam the San Francisco Peninsula in the late 80's we find SP 8351 parked in front of the South San Francisco depot a few weeks before the big quake.

Coincidentally, the big quake that extensively damaged the South San Francisco station building seen in the background of your photo. The station has since been torn down.

Wouldn't that be Circus Train power? The MBT was usually Geeps or SD-9s or SW1500's, or maybe not.

Anybody know when all the remote control radio equipment was pulled out or simply no longer used? This unit does have the antennas, heard the equipment was just left in place. Last ones I heard of were on the Modoc, seemed it would have been early 80's, ...or maybe just after 1962.
