SP 4460 Fan Trip

I have a collection of B&W negs of SP GS-6 4460 on a fan trip. This image shows the train at Davis on October 18, 1958. If I recall this was a Faewell To Steam trip.

I would appreciate anyone who can give me more information on this event. Thanks.

Been there..Done that...I have a color slide set of the trip Sacramento-Sparks and return. As an AT&SF 'worker', Art Lloyd
allowed me to use my SP trip pass RT...also used pass on the 4274 last Cab Forward to Sparks also. Great memories!!

Oakland-Sparks on the 18th, Sparks-Oakland on the 19th. The last SP revenue steam movement, wasn't it?

It may have been the last revenue passenger steam movement on the Espee, but the last revenue steam move was with narrow guage 4-6-0 SP #9 on August 25, 1959. - Tony J.
