Nostalgia & History > Monon questionsDate: 03/20/05 11:29 Monon questions Author: GAP I recently purchased two different Monon gondolas for my model railroad. The first one was gray with yellow lettering. Yesterday I purchased a black one with white lettering. Which is correct?
Also, both are in the 3000 number series with MON reporting marks. That seemed OK until I realized that I also have a boxcar with reporting marks CIL 3029. It seems strange to me that the numbers for gons and boxcars are in the same series. Something must be wrong. Can anyone please shed some light on this numbers and colors situation. Thanks. Later "MON" was the lines official mark.
