Nostalgia & History > SP in Long Beach in '91Date: 05/11/05 20:47 SP in Long Beach in '91 Author: 3rdswitch In March '91, an SP unit soda ash train from Trona, CA, heads down the Long Beach line towards the Metropolitan Stevedore facility at Pier G, with the old Texaco [now Shell] refinery in the distance, and is about to cross the UP San Pedro branch. This area has changed drastically with multple CTC main tracks all over the place, and, of couse, limited accessability.
