And last but not least, today's celebrity from back in the day.

GP7 707 leading another geep plus F7's 917 and 921 on one of their last runs, eastbound in Tracy in August, 1982. 3 of the units in this consist are now owned by Portola Railroad Museum.

That is a great shot--very 70's looking rail with a big smile!
We had big smiles today meeting the WP Portola crew and their geeps at the Brickyard when we passed them on #534.
If there's a railfan out there who was set up for the shot, sorry... had to set some air to get a photo as well--too good to resist!
Hope you got the shot after we cleared.

This young man's name is John and he still works in the area; I think he was one of the new guys who hired out 1978.
