In August '89, one of the many fruitless RailCycle Specials that Santa Fe ran in a few year span was passing through San Bernardino, CA.

RailCycle was a "venture" to try and secure a contract to use rail service to take refuse from the LA area to a dump site at Cadiz, CA, 100 miles east of Barstow, on the Needles Sub.
