Nostalgia & History > D&H in TexasDate: 06/28/05 21:49 D&H in Texas Author: xtra1188w I thought of doing a "where is this?" guessing game with this image, but I figured that no one would guess right with it.
I took this shot in about May 1975 as memory serves me. These D&H Alcos were sitting dead as part of an eastbound consist on SP's Dallas to Houston mainline, just east of Hockley Texas, which is aabout 40-45 miles west of Houston. The SP power had cut off from the train so that they could switch out the Hockley Salt Mine. This is my very first scan with my new Epson 4870 scanner, using Photoshop Elements 2 software. I had a smaller, less capable Mikrotek flatbed scanner before the Epson, and the Mikrotek's slide scanning ability was nearly worthless. Now I can scan and post better quality images, with a greater variety. Con ![]() Date: 06/30/05 12:46 Re: D&H in Texas Author: Washita thanks for the cool image.
