The staff are very friendly and accomodating, as I arrived before it opened and they let me wander freely about the grounds. If you're a traction fan this museum is definitely worth a visit. Looks like the same three cars (the open car, the TTC "sorta" Peter Witt and the L&PS 8) were running the day I was there. Found it interesting that they decided to go with strictly "Toronto gauge" (4'10 7/8") for operating equipment and trackage, which means that London & Port Stanley interurban and some other pieces were re-gauged in order to operate, but the odd gauge of Toronto's streetcars is a piece of history in its own right and deserves to be preserved. too. Here's a couple of pix from my visit...BTW, I got the open car at the turnaround, too, it's a classic shot. NZ |
