Saturday at Station - 1 of 3
Author: Train611

Being a train fan on a Saturday down by the station in a small town (Squamish BC) sometimes works out.
These first three images were taken around 0900K. 2296-2135-8908 make up the locomotive consist that will head north soon.
Temperature around 7 deg. C.

Around 0930K the track patrol comes into view indicating the immediate arrival of the southbound headed up by 5654.
This train will make its way into the yard, power will cut off and return to the station area with the southbound crew booking off.
The inbound units were 5654 -5636 - 2624.
You can also see the yard power 5508 - 5507. They will go to work at around 2000K with the crew switching the yard and then taking the loaded pulp cars to Squamish Terminals.

CN 2296 leads the 5 other units on Train 571. The train is around a mile in length, primarily made up of empties heading north.
This crew will take the train to Lillooet (a good run being 5-6 hours). In these shots the conductor is at the tail end testing the SBU.
A crew transporter will bring him to the head-end and they will be on their way.
This whole series of photos took about 2 1/2 hours.
Saturday at the Station; heavy duty power; 6 unit lash-up;
Great to be a train fan!

Have a good weekend.

Looks more like Boston Bar than Squamish with all that CN. I guess the BCR really is gone *sniff*

I was thinking the same thing before reading your post. These photos really hammer home the fact that the BCR is really gone.
