Foggy CN Oakways On Lulu Island
Author: BNSF3450

Out and about for some more night shooting Friday evening, we would come across the second pair of ex-Oakways CN has in transfer service. SD60s 5415 & 5440 have been operating on the Tramp Job, which operates between Thornton Yard in Surrey to the Ewen Branch in Richmond, BC on Lulu Island.

This job seems to operate twice daily, once coming back from the Ewen Yard to Thornton in the mornings, and then back out again to Ewen in the afternoon, where the power seems to spend the night.

Here are a few from last nights shoot that would include a bank of fog and a plane that had departed out of Vancouver International Airport.

Thanks for looking!

#1 is awesome. I don't say this as easily as others do, but that's IOTD material. The plane streak adds interest to #2, too, but otherwise it's basically a night roster shot, which is why I think #1 is much, much better.

2 very nice shots, the fog really makes the shots, and I don't think I have seen any of their locomotives that clean before!!!

Thanks for the share,
Karl

Paint is still fresh and they haven't gone through winter yet...

Nice natural light, not like the "blister-the-paint-off" flash that is typical. Very well done.

CN was kind enough to park them under bright lighting, thus a good chance to take advantage of their "generosity".

Fantastic images - the fog sets the "mood", yet the ambient lighting color rendition is amazing!

Congratulations on the IOTD!

And that plane looks almost like a UFO (cue the sci-fi music).
