Canadian Railroads > c.p. kamloops-banff info neededDate: 12/16/12 12:27 c.p. kamloops-banff info needed Author: goneon66 i'm gonna do a dispatching simulation of the c.p. from kamloops to somewhere near banff. if anybody could help me with the below information i'd appreciate it:
1. train symbols. i'll take ANY train symbols EITHER currently running or that have run since 2000 and the origination/destination if known, especially info on the 10'K long non-clearing stack trains. 2. what trains work and/or originate/terminate at the kamloops, revelstoke, and field yards? do any specific operating procedures occur at these yards? 3. what are the on-line industries that are large enough to be switched by either locals or manifest freights between kamloops and field? 4. what are the locals that run on this line and where do they originate/terminate? or any other operating info that would make the simulation interesting (dpu set out locations, etc.). thanks for any suggestions.......... 66 Date: 12/16/12 16:17 Re: c.p. kamloops-banff info needed Author: dizzy85 These trains originate in Coquitlam/Vancouver or Roberts Bank/Deltaport and their termination points vary (ie. grain and potash terminate in the prairies, etc.)
Grain - 350/351, 354/355, 356/357 IMS - 100/101, 112/111, 198/199 Mixed - 200/201, 202/203, 204/205 Manifest - 408/409 Sulphur - 624/625, 626/627 Potash - 672/673, 674/675 Coal - 860/861, 862/863, 864/865, 866/867, 868/869, 870/871, 872/873, 874/875, 876/877, 878/879 DPU and pusher setout/pickup terminal: Geddis (MP 107 Shuswap Sub) That's all the info I have for now, as I work out of Vancouver and not any of these locations. into Kamloops, and are then transferred to CN for furtherance westward. Cannot tell you the numbers, but they are referred to by the CP amd CN yard people as "ad hoc" trains. Which is a bit odd for sure, my understanding of "ad hoc" is one time. There is the odd train also that goes eastward on the CN for furtherance to Ridley Island terminal. Now that Roberts Bank has had it's capacity cut in half until probably late next March, there will probably be more of these trains. Sid. I believe their train symbols while on CP track are 884/885 or 898/899 and on CN lines they become 798/799 and 796/797.

simulation. The CP often drops off power units at Geddes, which is 20 or so miles east of Kamloops. The westbounds drop them off, the eastbounds pick them up. I can get you the exact mileages if you need that. Sid. Date: 12/18/12 17:29 Re: c.p. kamloops-banff info needed Author: goneon66 thanks for the info everybody........
