CPR Trainmaster Scrapped in Baltimore?
Author: tsokolan

Here's a bit of a mystery involving CPR Trainmaster 8914. The shot is from my collection, photographer unknown, but on the mount its dated August 31 1969 Baltimore MD. Did some of the CPR Trainmasters really get scrapped in Baltimore? Could they have been scrapped here to salvage the OP parts for marine use?

I believe the prime movers went to marine use. IIRC there was a few.

Baltimore's Striegel Corp scrapped a number of F units back in the 1960s and 1970s.

Steam engines, too.

Striegel Equipment in Baltimore scrapped a number of CPR Train Masters. Among them were 8914, 8915, 8919 that had been based in Montreal before retirement. There were photos published at the time of two TM's in St Johndbury, VT on their way to Striegel.
