Canadian Railroads > New Overpass in North Vancouver

A new overpass serving the Cargill elevator and the Neptune bulk temrinal in North Vancouver offers some new perspectives on the action around CN's Lynn Creek yard.
1. Neptune 805, 805A, and 808A. These NRE 3GS21Bs replaced a couple of SW1500s and some ex-SP Alcos. 808 and 808A were the first cow/calf set built by NRE.
2. A mountain of coal at Neptune.
3. A CN transfer arrives Lynn Creek.

It appears the access is public on the overpass, is that correct?

Have they taken the lower road out of service yet?

Great track work shot on that last one. Looks like great weather there too.

As best I can tell it's public. There are, as expected, high fences directly over the tracks, but places on either side of the fence for photographs.
The low road is gone. Is that space to be turned into additional CN tracks?

There will be two additional tracks built on the right of way of the former Low Level Road. One of these will be the new run-through track to the former BC Rail territory and the other will be a storage track. In total, there will be four storage tracks. The aim is to enable long strings of grain cars to be cut with fewer switching moves.

Boy those Neptunes are on tight radius curves!
