Canadian Railroads > A Via "Skeena" sampler.Date: 01/08/17 10:22 A Via "Skeena" sampler. Author: eminence_grise Sundog Tours is offering a "Ride the Rails" tour between Jasper AB. and Dunster BC.
This tour involves riding the Via "Skeena" from Jasper to Dunster BC, and returning to Jasper on a small tour bus. Stops at scenic highlights are provided on the bus portion of the tour. Reviews include praise for the area knowledge of the tour guide/drivers. Dunster is a small village in the Robson valley which has a preserved Grand Trunk Pacific station. At US$ 85, it sounds like an excellent way to sample a ride on Via 5, the "Skeena". I'm assuming this is a summer only tour. "Sundog" operates in competition to the long established Brewster tours of Banff. The image shows Sundog and a Brewster coach beside the Via station in Jasper in 2014 |
