Via #1 The Canadian was running a little over 7 hours late on Jan 7. On the outskirts of Vancouver she overtook a stopped CP grain train waiting for its turn at one of the North Shore terminals.

Happens all the time on oil trains in the east.

I would imagine he's referring to VIA Rail side by side with a UP unit, not very common anywhere. I managed to see that last winter:
