All in May 1986. Roger's noted on the Logan Box "CN Yellowhead Pass".  That probably means in and around the pass.

Pics 1-4 are at the Snaring River siding just north east of Jasper, not sure where #5 is.

There is a station mileboard and a mile marker visible in the last image.  Looks like the right of way has been prepared for double tracking, some of which didn't happen on the Albreda Subdivision west of Jasper.

I concur with BCR_766. The first four pictures are all from the same spot. Pictures 1, 2 & 4 are eastbounds heading to what is now the end of double track at Henry House. In picture 3 you can see the Snaring River Bridge in the background. Train in picture 3 is westbound. The switch to double track at the west end of this bridge is now known as Henry House but may well have been called Snaring Siding before CN did their serious double tracking project through here.

As for picture 5 ??? Its west of Jasper and looks like its MP 14 or 15 on the Albreda Sub which identifies the train as a westbound approaching Yellowhead which is mile 17.6. The station mile board that eminence_grise pointed out could be for Decoigne station which is no longer in the timetable but was in this area about 13 miles west of Jasper. The train looks like coal loads which makes it a westbound.

Certainly looks like a Jordan Spreader, the original design was to use the blades to push ballast around similar to a bulldozer or road grader. The blades were angled to provide the ballast slope with a ditch at the bottom for drainage, all in one pass while being pulled along the tracks. Not sure what this photo depicts but it could be any number of purposes, maybe just a move between locations.

It was May.  Maybe a move for summer storage or other use.

Looks like a scale test car in front of it. Either a slow speed equipment move or hoping to keep the spreader on the rail while plowing ballast.

Not sure why the box car would be trailing the caboose. Could be an equipment car, with caboose in place to observe the spreader while in transit. Note that the spreader usually is required to travel with blades trailing, as shown. Oh well, nice photos and a nice place to spend some time.
