GO 512 near and GO 503 behind it are seen in Toronto, Ontario on August 8, 1988. Bob Date: 05/23/17 09:38 Re: Happy 50th to GO Transit - GO 512 Author: Mberry refarkas Wrote:

Where in Toronto is this exactly? Michael Date: 05/23/17 14:43 Re: Happy 50th to GO Transit - GO 512 Author: refarkas All I know is that this is two or three miles west of Toronto Union Station.

Here's a more recent photo (although still almost 15 years old now) from the platform, that is one of my favourites. And yes, I was shooting Fuji film. :-) GTD Edited 1 time(s). The first photo shows the overpass that passengers had to use to get to and from the north platform to the south platform where the exhibition grounds are. It was several years before that was replaced with an underpass that, fortunately, had a lot fewer steps and also elevators. Work started a few years ago on a fifth track - a siding which will share the platform with track 1. This requires an extension of the tunnel and another elevator. Even if this track and access were to be completed in the near future, it will have taken longer to construct this than it took the UK and France to build the channel tunnel. |
