FPA Friday - #6771 as WM #305 - Early 1990's
Author: DTWilson

1) The day the Alco / MLW era began on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad ex. VIA #6771 arrived in Cumberand, MD along with ex. D&H RS3 #4075 and C&NW RSD5 #1689. The colorful combination in front of the former WM station on that Saturday Morning.

2) #6771 was quickly repainted black and would wear the WM "Fireball" paint scheme numbered as #305... 1 above the orignal WM FA's 301 - 304...

3) A "Sheep Dip" Black FP4

1) Now as WM #305 on the makeshift inspection pit in the middle of the Ridgeley, WV yard having it's traction motors serviced. In the background is the GP9 #40 that was used during the "Showalter Era" on the scenic railroad.

2) Opening Day... in Cumberland

3) on the turntable at Frostburg, MD.

Your choice for the B&W images was inspired - the perfect situation and perfect execution! Does your wife do scallops, pinstripes, and flames on "Lead Sleds" (not everyone on this site will know what those are)? Outstanding!

Thank You... She has in the past but being she is now a Store Manager in the big box retail world and grandchildren she lacks the spare time anymore to do anything in automotive customizing...
