Canadian Railroads > Timekeeping of the Canadian has improved

After a few weeks of ridiculously late trains, the situation has improved considerably. Of the four consists presently in service, one is 30 minutes early, two are less than an hour late and one is four and a half hours late. The latter is, not surprisingly, #2 due in Toronto at 09:30 this morning.

Normally this would not be cause for rejoicing, but half a day late has been a frequent occurrence lately.

Is freight volume down on these CN routes?

Maybe a dispatcher went on vacation.

Perhaps! Train 2, which was four and a half hours late this morning, made up time and arrived in Toronto just over three hours late. The other three sets of the Canadian are still under an hour late. A few days ago #1 was reported an hour early into Winnipeg and about the same into Edmonton. I hope an RTC (dispatcher) doesn't get fired over this.

It seems the RTCs have been spoken to. One of the four "Canadians" is on time, one is about an hour and a half late and the other two are six to seven hours late.
