TH&B gon...
Author: hepc46

Last Friday, July 21st, the last in service railcar/last gondola, from the Toronto Hamilton & Buffalo Railway was moved from storage in Welland to its new home at the Niagara Railway Museum in Fort Erie. The car was retired from service after 50yrs in February 2016. It has taken over a year and a half to get everything done and moved. It has been a rough road, but the Museum is very pleased to have saved this car. Unfortunately it was tagged while in storage, but has already had that tagging painted over (temporarily) until a proper restoration can begin. The car was saved after being identified for preservation, by fans of the TH&B and members of the TH&B Historical Society. Lettering and reporting mark stencils are being measured and produced and will be applied once the car receives it's final coat of paint.

Nice photo story. Is the caboose in the background (#3) also part of the museum collection?

Yes it is part of the collection, but not a caboose. It's an ex-CNR wood flanger, 1 of 2 the Museum owns. One has The blades with no body, the other has the body but no blades. The website has pics of all the equipment.
