Canadian Railroads > A Century ApartDate: 09/17/17 16:54 A Century Apart Author: MrGrumpy The lack of traffic on the CP does have it's bright side, When there are no trains, you start to notice some of the details you might otherwise miss. While waiting for trains that never came, I started looking at the rails over Davenport Road in Toronto. The guard rails are 85lb Algoma Steel 1911 - 100 years older than the 136lb mainline rails. I wonder what trains rolled over these rails before they were relegated to guard rail duty?

Love the composition of this photo, especially the fact it's from a location I've spend a half-dozen or so days at over the years. Fred Date: 09/19/17 21:51 Re: A Century Apart Author: rrpreservation Great find!! Thanks for sharing it.
