Canadian Railroads > Watertower Wednesday, Ignace ON.1972Date: 10/11/17 13:23 Watertower Wednesday, Ignace ON.1972 Author: eminence_grise Ignace ON is a crew change point on CP's main line between Thunder Bay ON and Winnipeg MB. This large tower is an example of an octagonal tower for an engine terminal, it has no water spout but is connected by pipes to trackside "stand pipes" (water cranes).
This one was full of water, probably fire protection for the adjacent town. Since removed. KG's Rambler is visible beside the tower to give a sense of scale. Edited 1 time(s).
