Makes me homesick. One minor correction, the siding is Tisdall, although some did pronounce it Tisdale. Doug

What happened to the bridge at Tisdall? I remember it being brand new around that time with lots of earthworks around it. Washout?

Can't recall what year, perhaps Sept or Oct 2003, but the bridge did washout along with other sections on the Squamish sub. Doug

The washout occurred on October 18, 2003.

At that time, there were two single-track bridges across Rutherford Creek at Tisdall, one of them being the glue-lam bridge shown in the above photo, which had been built in 1981 after an earlier washout.

The second parallel bridge was built later, on the west side, after Tisdall siding was extended to the south across the creek. It was a conventional steel span. I've attached a photo from July 1999 showing the steel bridge, with BC-33/15 passing southbound on the glue-lam bridge.

Both bridges were knocked out in the 2003 washout, with the glue-lam one restored by October 29. Repair work included adding steel pilings to replace the washed out concrete abutment on the south side.

The steel bridge took much longer to repair. I have photos of it in August 2004 with the work still far from being completed.

Would this be the same location? Taken in May 1996. I have Tisdall written on the slide.

Yes. That train is northbound, and the lead locomotive has just crossed the steel bridge.

Some quick research, at one time Tisdall siding was 5700 feet long and then extended south to 7200 feet, then after the washouts of 2003 the bridge for the siding was not replaced and the siding is now shown at 5500 feet. Doug

I believe Tisdall siding is now gone completely. Happened several years ago.

Thank you, I stand corrected, my ETT is from 2007. Doug
