At least that's a custom-painted locomotive. I happened upon this sweet ROCK E60 awhile ago. Appears to be mass produced. Yikes!

Great for a laugh this morning.

What is scary is when someone knows you "have a train set" and they buy something like this for you. They cannot wait to see the look on your face when they give it to you.

No amount of acting lessons will give you the ability to mask your real reaction and feelings for an item like this.

Well, the real GG1's were 4-6-6-4's.

ROCK E60's were the contract switchers for AREA 51.

Triang trains made the most incorrect model of a GMD F-unit possible, along with an equally bad RS-3

Triang was cheap and reliable and was my first and only layout as a little boy.

But oddly enough the model in the picture isn't...

Thats a Tyco GG1 which Tyco modified to re-use their Alco C636 mechanism with freelance trucks. Giving it some thought this COULD have been a natural evolution of the electric engine design.

It was available in Amtrak 2-stripe, PRR red, PRR silver, PRR medium green and NH 3-color; maybe a few more.

The Bachmann E60CP was available in Amtrak 2-stripe and Rock. Their E60 freight unit (pretty close to the BM&LP electric) was available in Chessie and ATSF red/wilver warbonnet. The E60CP is still available in an upgraded 2- and 3-stripe Amtrak scheme.

As an aside, American GK made an E60CP in Amtrak 2-stripe as well as other roads (Bicentennial, New Haven 3 color and some others) and a single end freight version with Amtrak E60 roof features not the BM&LP features) with SD9 fuel tank and GE trucks for about 6 road names (BN, MILW, GN, BM&LP, Conrail, PC....). Walthers later released the E60CP adding NJT to the paint list.

Looks like they tried to model one of the EMD F Unit derivatives that were sold in Europe, South America and Australia.
