CP 8100s: What are they officially?

Are these units still classed as AC4400CWs, are they now AC44C6Ms, or are they known by some other designation? Thanks...

Do they still have a 16 cylinder engine in them, or a 12 cylinder GEVO engine. Fred

Still the 16 cylinder 7FDL. The electrical system was updated to the 8600/9700/9800 standard

cn1063,

Are they still rattle traps on a heavy pull or does the new cabs provide some relief?

Locotrol2,

Much like the 9600s they used to be, some rattle quite badly, some aren’t so bad. The 9500 series are going to get rebuilt as well, they are getting a modified fuel tank with the #1 and 2 reservoirs on each side similar to an SD40-2. This is to allow for a larger fuel tank
