Canadian Railroads > Dease Lake LineDate: 02/17/18 14:46 Dease Lake Line Author: hawkeye https://www.google.com/maps/@55.6158638,-126.067552,1907m/data=!3m1!1e3 I have found what looks to be a train on the Takla Sub between Takla and Bulkley House. Is this section of the line still active or are they just storing cars or is this just a really old map? It looks like it is at a lumber loading facility? Even further up the line there is another lumber facility. https://www.google.com/maps/@56.3338605,-127.2745132,805m/data=!3m1!1e3 .

There are numerous wash outs and rocks on the track along Takla Lake. The log reload at Lovell Cove (MP 198) and Minaret (MP 273) are not in service. Track ends at Minaret. There are 2 lumber mills at Fort ST James and CN serves 5 days a week.

Date: 02/18/18 05:52 Re: Dease Lake Line Author: shortlineboss Check date on Google Map. There is nothing at Leo Creek. With the rock fall near MP 165, you can't even get by with a motor car.

Have you been out there looking at that line, Mike? If so, what are the roads like up to Takla Lake? We're heading up to Alaska in May and I may have to make a side trip to see the Ft St James line. |
