G & W SD70m-2
Author: algoma11

I was at Merriton Ontario ( St Catharines Area ) today and saw a G & W unit trailing on CN 421.
The unit was freshly painted in G & W colors and lettered Providence & Worster.
It looked like an SD70 totally rebuilt. I believe the road number may have been 4301 .This is probably an ex FEC unit.Does any one have any other info ????????

I do know her twin sister is already on Buffalo & Pittsburgh, and have heard they are supposed to be getting relettered for BPRR and going into service for them... I would expect their last two 20-cylinder SD45 rebuilds (457 and 458) aren't long for this world...

It's just a conventional ex-FEC SD70M-2 as far I know, don't think rebuilt in any way. Was at the NECR shops in St. Albans, VT and came up to Montreal on CN 323.

They did some work on the cab to lower the number boards and headlight for clearance reasons, but that is about it from what I know.
