Vintage power at night
Author: loleta

In advance of this weekend's Thomas trains, the West Coast Ry. museum in Squamish parked some of their equipment outside last night. Here are some photos of Pacific Great Eastern 561 and CP 4069.

Don't they also have the ex-AC1756, AC's only FP-7? It was Via 6551, Via 1404, CP 1404, CP 4103, AP 6514, CRHA 6525 and WCRA 6531, I think I saw photos of it repainted similarly, did they just not take it out? Sharp paint on those F's! Thanks for the pix. === === = === JLH

Is that an original enameled beaver shield?

Some of those numbers do not apply to AC 1756. It was built as CP 4103, became CP 1404, then VIA 1404, and finally VIA 6553 before acquisition by AC. CN donated it to WCRA in 2002, and I understand there was some sensitivity about then repainting it in the colours of CN's long-time rival. Perhaps that obstacle has passed with time. The photo at WCRA's website taken in 2014 shows it in AC colours but with 1404 numberboards.
